KATHERINE C. HARTEL
Katherine C. Hartel, 97, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away June 27, 2010. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1 from 7:00pm – 8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe Kansas. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church of Branson, Missouri, at 1:00 p.m on July 2nd, with burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park.
She was born Katherine Sternitzke on November 25, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents Henry and Anna Sternitzke, and her husband, William Hartel, Sr., of 45 years, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, William Hartel (Patricia) of Olathe, Kansas, and daughter Barbara Troemel (Larry) of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Becky and Michael Troemel of Waukesha, and Will (Michelle) Hartel of Lenexa, Kansas, and two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Emma Hartel, also of Lenexa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7611 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
