Karla Sue Mateer, 56, of Olathe, KS, passed away on February 11, 2012.
Karla was born on April 29, 1955 to the late Harold and Virginia Maglott in Mansfield, OH. On November 17, 1972, she married the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Mateer and raised four wonderful daughters. Her family moved to Kansas in July of 2003.
Karla's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and devoted Christian. She loved to entertain in her home and welcomed friends and family with an open heart. She was overly modest about her talents at cooking, sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, and photography. Karla was a self-taught computer technician and worked for UNICO insurance in Lincoln, NE.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jenn and Rusty Black, Jasmin and Jackson Roth, Jackie and Matt Burt, and Jill Mateer; nine grandchildren, Riley, Rhett, Emma, and Reece Black, Carter, Avery, and Isaac Roth, and Aubrey and Matthew Jr. Burt; four siblings and their spouses Pat and Dr. Mike Stine, Diane Schroer, Holly and Steve Smith, and Mark and Janine Maglott; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Betty Mateer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their spouses Rev. Tim and Sassy Mateer and Terri and Bill Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her father and mother, brother Allen Jay Maglott and four nephews.
