Karen S. Rosentreter, 62, of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015.
Karen was born June 26, 1952 in Carlinville, Illinois, to Dora and Robert Kates. She received her teaching degree from Eastern Illinois University, and worked for the Olathe School District for 18 years, most recently working in the Ridgeview Elementary School Library. She was married to Ted Rosentreter in 1978.
Karen was an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the Serra Club, and the Beta Sigma Phi service sorority.
Surviving family includes her husband, Ted Rosentreter, daughter Kate Coleman and her husband Brett, son Matthew Rosentreter and his wife, Stephanie, grandsons Easton and Mason Coleman, father Robert Kates, step-mother Audrey Kates, sister Sandy Trump, step-brother Gary Rugel, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Kates, and an infant daughter, Mary Rosentreter.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.
