KAREN LYNN OLSON
Karen Lynn Olson, Age 62, passed away April 13, 2010 in Olathe with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hal S. Nichols Sr. of Pittsburg, Missouri in 1988 and her mother, Frances M. Nichols of Kansas City, Missouri in 1995.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Olson of Olathe, her son Bryan Olson of Olathe, sister Donna Nichols of Cole Camp, Missouri, brothers Hal Nichols of Overland Park and Rodney Nichols (Patty) of Olathe and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1966 and studied horticulture at Kansas State University. She was last employed as an administrative assistant by the Johnson County Department of Corrections.
Karen was a friend to everyone, and especially children and pets. She had a remarkable love for and took immense joy from her family and friends. She brought laughter and fun to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 19 at 10:30 am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 18 from 5:00-7:00 pm also in the chapel of the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Olathe Covenant Church or the American Diabetes Association.
