Juliet (Judy) Jay Ayers, 73, Olathe, KS passed away Sunday, 21 September 2014 at her residence following her battle with cancer. An interment service for the family will be held at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Teen Missions International or The American Cancer Society in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
Judy was born October 29, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK. Her husband, Coleman Ayers in 2008, preceded her in death. Judy is survived by daughter Barbara and husband Jon Campbell, and son Bryan Ayers and wife Dawn; 11 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Kyle Null, Elizabeth McMullin, Eryn and Brenna Campbell, Jonathan, Abby, Hannah, Luke, Grace, Benjamin and Caleb Ayers.
Judy moved to southern California when she was eight and spent most of her life there. She was the Sunday School Superintendent for the Whitwood Assembly of God for many years. In 1994, Coleman and Judy relocated to Vernal, Utah to enjoy retirement. While in Utah, she was the District Women's Ministry representative for the Rocky Mountain District Assembly of God Church. Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Olathe to be close to family. Judy held many jobs including telephone operator, but her favorite was Medical Office Manager. Judy was also very active in her community. She volunteered for Relay for Life and was involved in numerous Bible Studies and the Red Hat Society. She attended Northpoint Church and College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe.
