Julie Ann Wier, age 63, of Olathe, passed away on October 17, 2020 due to complications from a Hemorrhagic Stroke. She was born on October 8th, 1957 to Max and Nancy Probasco in Unionville, MO. She attended Primary & Secondary School in Unionville, MO. After High School, she attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO on a Full Academic Scholarship. During her Senior Year she studied abroad at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. After graduating from William Jewell College, she went on to receive her Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling from the University of Missouri Kansas CIty.
Julie developed a reputation in her hometown as being kind & respectful as well as showing maturity beyond her years. She carried these traits into her Professional Career in Secondary Education initially as an English Teacher & Guidance Counselor at Olathe North & then as a Guidance Counselor at Richland High School in the Dallas, TX Metro Area.
Julie is survived by her mother Nancy Cummins, brothers Joe Probasco and David Probasco, husband Gene Wier, daughter Kaitlin Worth, son Ryan Worth, grandchildren Harrison, Caroline & Lillian Worth, & 6 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her First Husband Murrell Lee (Buddy) Worth and her father Bernard Max Probasco.
Visitation will be held on 10-19-20 from 5:30PM - 7:30 PM at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on 10-20-20 at 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Her Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Public School Foundation or The Olathe Hospice in Julie's Honor.
