Julia "Judy" E. LaFrance, 88, passed away on February 12, 2018, at Olathe Medical Center. Judy was born to Eugene and Edith Mabrey on Sept. 16, 1929 in Pleasant Hill, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. LaFrance Jr.; parents; brothers, Paul Sr. and Charles Mabrey.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheri Kohler-Moore (Thomas) Olathe, KS and Barbara Cowan Highland, IN; grandsons, Brad (Rose) Moore of Thornton, CO, Chris (Trisha) Moore of Girard, KS and Jeremy (Elisha) Moore O'Fallon, MO; granddaughter, Bethany Cowan of Highland, IN; 3 great grandsons, Scott and Levi Moore, Isaac Cowan; brother, Melvin Mabrey; sisters, Mary Lou Hamilton, Lois White and Nellie Healy; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Judy lived the past 8 years with Cheri and Thomas in Olathe, KS. Prior to her move to Olathe she resided in Griffith, IN. She was a homemaker and loving mother, but also worked for several years as a Secretary for Simplex Corp. in Kansas City and St. Louis. She was a loving selfless woman dedicated to her family and always willing to help others.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Mastocytosis Society Inc., PO Box 416, Sterling, MA 01564 as her great grandson suffers from rare diseases.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 10:30-11:30am on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe chapel with a memorial service immediately following.
