Judy Kramps

November 8, 1947 — October 15, 2024

Judy Earline Kramps, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. Born on November 8, 1947, in Dwight, Kansas, she was the beloved daughter of Leigh and Mildred McDiffett (deceased) and cherished sister to her two younger brothers, Raymond and Rodney. Judy graduated from Junction City High School in 1965.

Judy married Henry Albert Kramps on August 2, 1969. Together they built a life in Olathe beginning in 1977, welcoming their children: Anthony A. (Christine) Kramps, Katherine L. (Ian) Olson, and Timothy D. Kramps.

In 1982, Judy and Hank opened Hankle’s Automotive in Olathe, where they dedicated themselves to serving the Olathe community in automotive care until Hank’s passing in 2001 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Following this, Judy lived with Ian and Kathy and their children, embarking on a new chapter as she joined the Olathe Public Schools District Service Center in September 2004, where she dedicated 20 years of service.

Judy was a member of St Paul Catholic Church since 1977. She had a profound love for her faith and church community, which were central to her life. She found comfort and strength in her spiritual beliefs which in turn guided her in times of challenge and joy, shaping her values of kindness, compassion, and resilience.

Judy is survived by her five grandchildren: Sarah E. (Sam) White, Ashleigh M. Kramps, Gracie I. Olson, Samuel W. Olson, Henry L. Olson, dogs Trixie, Pheobe and granddog Hugo. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emma K. Kramps, in 2000.

Judy loved attending her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, especially anything related to performing arts. She shared her passion for piano with them and found joy in country music, dancing, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her family at the beach or at home. She was also a proud 17-year cancer survivor.

Known for her welcoming heart and love of life, Judy’s warm nature allowed her to connect with others easily, making them feel valued and understood. She had a gift for listening and making people feel heard and appreciated. Through her actions and outlook, Judy made the world a better place, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

The family requests that donations be made to the Mid-America Nazarene University Performing Arts Program in Judy’s memory.
