Judith Ellen Hayes, 48, of Overland Park, passed away on February 12, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1969 to Robert and Josephine (Burgar) Golob in Pittsburg, KS.
Judith graduated from Colgan High School in 1987, and attended Pittsburg State University, where she graduated with a business degree in 1991, and was part of the Pittsburg State Drill Team. She dedicated her life raising her daughters and working for Associated Grocer, Lakewood Middle School and Sysco Foods. Judith loved people and greeted strangers with a hug, and not a handshake and relished having a good time with down-to-earth people. She was certainly one herself. Most of all she focused her time on family, friends and outdoor activities. She especially enjoyed sporting events, concerts and her favorite Chocolate Labrador, Jaxson.
Judith is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of 24 years and her two daughters Jocelyn Hayes and Justine Hayes, Father, Robert Golob, Mother Josephine Golob, and two sisters Anna Sossamon and Teresa Shouse and many nieces and nephews…
She was preceded in death by grandparents Perry and Josephine Burgar, grandparents Frank and Barbara Duesi and in-laws, James and Wanda Hayes.
The family will receive guests for a visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 6:00-7:30pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish in Leawood. The Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, February 16th, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Judith's wishes were for memorial contributions given to a GoFundMe campaign (gofundme.com/hayes-girl039s-college-fund) to support Judith's loving daughters college education or, Head for the Cure Foundation, Brain Cancer Research, headforthecure.org/foundation/memorials/Judith-Hayes. Most importantly, please keep the Hayes family in your thoughts and prayers.
