Juanita Mae Manning, 99, of Olathe, passed away on April 28, 2022 at Olathe Hospice House after a brief Illness.
She was born on February 7, 1923 to Oscar and Hazel (Stevens) Ouverson at Le Seuer, MN.
Juanita had various secretarial jobs through her her life and was an original Rosie the Riveter during World War II making ammunition.
She spent much of her early adult life living in Iowa. She married Lloyd Tucker, and they had one daughter, Joy. She was later married to Charles (Ray) Manning and they moved to Florida, where she lived in Clearwater. In her later years, she moved to Kansas to be near her family.
She was a beautiful piano player and in her last year was able to entertain her neighbors daily with music. She was an avid scrabble player and would not go easy on even the novice of players. She was also a gifted poetry writer and loved to sew, especially cross stitch. She had a strong love for travel which she has passed on to her family.
Juanita is survived by her loving grand-daughters, Nicole (Justin) Schulte and Lindsey (Kellen) Levien, and great-grandchildren; Payton, Easton and Emma Schulte and McKinley and Madison Levien.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles (Ray) Manning, her brothers Carrol (Joe) and Curtis Ouverson, and her daughter Joy Lynne Peekenschneider.
Memorials are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House.
