She was born October 4, 1931 in Spring Hill, Kansas, the daughter of George and Lula Dill. She was the youngest of 6 children. She met her lifelong best friend Doris Colson while in elementary school in Olathe. Doris was Juanita's neighbor for the last year when they both moved to Vintage Park, an assisted living center in Gardner. Juanita met her future husband Elvin Hamblin in 1947 after he came home from serving in the Army during WW II. They married in June of that year.
