Joyce Parsell passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 98.
Joyce was born in Fulton, New York and got her teaching credentials from State University of New York at Oswego. She taught elementary school, ranging from teaching in one-room classrooms to individual grade levels. Joyce taught all of her adult life and retired from teaching and then traveled.
She enjoyed skiing, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite past-times was spending her summers at the cottage that she and her husband, Jack, had in New York watching the beautiful sunsets on Lake Ontario.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 with prayer service offered at 6:45 pm and then a visitation from 7:00-8:00 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS 66062.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to HighPointers.Org to the Jack Parsell Scholarship Fund or BradensHope.Org.
