Age 77, passed away October 15, 2008 at her home in Stilwell, KS. Private family graveside services will be held. Interment, Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society, or to Care Alternatives in care of the Ray family, 19630 Birch, Stilwell, KS 66085.
Jo was born December 4, 1930 in Claxton, GA to John Todd, Sr., and Pearly Jane Meddlin Todd. She was married to Giles Ashford Ray on February 17, 1952, and together they moved their family to the Stanley, KS area in 1969.
She is survived by her children; Johnny (Susan) Ray and Shella Ray, both of Stilwell, grandchildren Linda Ray, David Ray, J.D. Schilb, great-grandchildren Brittany Mickelson, Kiera Austin, Jaedyn Austin, Madison Schilb and Charlee Schilb. She is also survived by her three sisters Vera Creasy, Imogene NeSmith, and Myrtle Kirby, and two brothers Ellis Todd and Ernest Todd, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giles in 1994, and her brothers J.H. Todd, Jr., Larry Todd, and Wallace Todd, and her sister Evelyn NeSmith.
