JOSEPH TAYLOR HOLLINGSWORTH
Age 84, passed away March 6, 2007 at his home in DeSoto, KS. Private graveside services will be held at the DeSoto Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Lion's Eye Bank, or to Odyssey Healthcare.
Joseph was born on October 2, 1922 in Westchester, Pennsylvania to Irvin and Alice Hollingsworth. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, returning home to his career as a civil engineer with the U.S. government. He married Mildred McCracken on June 22, 1946 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Joe was a member of the Lion's Club, The Rotary Club, and was a Master Mason.
In his leisure time, he was actively involved in the civil air patrol, flying, and woodworking. He and his wife, Millie, were very involved as leaders in the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Hollingsworth, his children; Margaret (Larry, Sr.) Poague, Cyria West, Warren (Sandy) Hollingsworth, and Alice (Tim) Lowe, grandchildren; Larry, Jr, Christopher and Christel Poague, Gina Hendrickson, Asure West and Douglas West, Brandon Hollingsworth, Tonya, Heather and Carly Lowe, and great-grandchildren Tyler Hoober, Deirdre Poague, Madison and Taren Hendrickson.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marianna Hollingsworth.
