John Stephen Bator
Born August 8, 1924 in Utica, New York
After graduating from high school, John enlisted in the Army Corp of Engineers and served in the pacific theatre, helping construct the "Burma Road" during World War II. After the war, John briefly worked for International Harvester before accepting a position with the United States Government. As a Federal employee working in the field of communications and affiliated with the Strategic Air Command, much of his duties and responsibilities were classified. In 1970, John and his wife Irene were relocated with their two boys, John and Ron, to Kansas City, Missouri. John retired after 32 years of service, with the majority of years at Griffiths Air Force Base, Rome, New York and Richards Gebaur Air Force Base, located outside of Grandview, Missouri. John is survived by his two sons,three grand children; Andrew, Nicole, and Claudia, and his sister, Sadie Rosinski.
