John Douglas Railsback, 68, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on February 22, 2016. A celebration of life will be held between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on February 28, 2016 at Avignon Clubhouse, 14245 W. 117th Court, Olathe, Kansas 66062.
John was born May 22, 1947 in Beloit, Kansas to Joe and Olive Railsback. He grew up in Ionia, Kansas and graduated from Glen Elder High School. Growing up he worked on the family dairy farm. While still in school he joined the Kansas National Guards taking training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and schooling in Aberbeen, Maryland.
In 1976, he married Sue McLean and they had one daughter before they divorced. John drove a semi for several years until he settled down in Kansas City, Kansas. On September 3, 1982, he married Louanne Marshall and gained a step-daughter. For more than 25 years he worked for Asphalt Sales Company in Olathe, Kansas wearing many different hats until he was a landfill coordinator.
John is survived by his wife Louanne, of Olathe, Kansas; daughter Alisha (Dan) Schroeder of St. Cloud, Florida; step-daughter Raegan (Bobby) Carmona of Lenexa, Kansas; granddaughters, Piper and Mia Schroeder, and Gabrielle Carmona; brothers Willard (Sami) Railsback of Bandon, Oregon; Frank (Nadine) Railsback of Mankato, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents (his father passed away 30 years ago and his mother passed away 16 years ago on the same date); brother Robert Railsback; and nephew Wesley Railsback.
