John Peknik

John Peknik, age 59, Olathe, KS passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008 at his home. Rosary will begin at 6pm at the chapel on Thursday. The family suggests contributions to Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, 512 SE 25th Ave., Pratt, KS 67124 and/or the American Heart Assc.

John was born February 9, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas living in the Kansas City area all of his life. He was an U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a police officer in Leawood, Kansas and a detective with the KU Medical Center until his retirement. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a member and 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus.

He leave his children; Joel William Peknik, Courtney Nicole Peknik, and Derick John Peknik; sisters, Judi Smedra and Patricia Hawkinson; grandchildren, Kyson Peknik, his children's mother, Denise Peknik, and man's best friends "Mocca and Aggie".

He was preceded in death by his parents; Clydene Hardaway and Thomas Peknik, brother; Thomas Peknik.
