JOHN "PAT" PATRICK GEERDES

Age 67, passed away May 6, 2007 in Overland Park, KS, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS, followed by a Celebration of his Life at 3:00 p.m., also in the chapel of the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the LeeAnn Britain Infant Development Center, 9100 W. 74th Street, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204.

Pat was born on April 17, 1940 in Hays, KS to John and Mary Geerdes. He grew up in Hoxie, KS, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. He married Marilyn Robben on September 6, 1965, and graduated from Metropolitan State College with a degree in Business Administration. After 25 years of service, he retired from Union Oil Company of California in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn, his daughter, Robin (Chad) Weinand, and his son, Jay Geerdes, and his grand-daughter, Anna Kathryn. He is preceded in death by his parents.
