John Finch

JOHN SPANN FINCH, age 79, passed away December 26, 2011 surrounded by his family in Overland Park, KS. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, at 1:00pm at Wesley Chapel, Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Backpack Ministry at the Church of the Resurrection.
John was born in Indianapolis, IN to Lewis and Louie Finch. He was a proud alumnus of Butler University. John was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from IBM and American Century.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Finch, his children Greg Finch, Karen Finch, Lisa (Tim) Johnson, and Lori (Barry) Wesselowski, grandchildren Jonathan, Hayley, Courtney and Trevor Finch, Drew and Michael Johnson, Erin, Alex and Anna Wesselowski, and one brother, George Finch. Also surviving are his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Nan Axcell, sister-in-law Jane Johnson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Finch, and his parents. John was an avid Jayhawk fan, loved his computers, and most of all his family.
