John William Davis (27 of Olathe) passed away Wednesday morning, March 5th, 2015. John was surrounded by friends and family at the time of his death.
He was born in Olathe on July 14th, 1987 to his parents Sue A. & George W. Davis. In his life, his favorite past times were going to the movies, eating out, bowling, and playing Nintendo with his good friends. He graduated with honors from Olathe North High School in 2005.
Throughout his life, John fought bravely through many illnesses. The past 8 years he lived with Alexander's Disease, a leukodystrophy. Despite the significant hurdles he encountered in life, John lived his life with the understanding that "happiness is a choice", a motto that greeted his friends and family in a frame over his bed. His gratitude for even the simplest joys that came his way inspired all those who came to know him.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Louise Davis, Grandfather John C. Kelley, Uncle Bill Kelley, Uncle Mike Kelley and many other members of his family and friends. He is survived by his Mother Sue Davis, Father George Davis, Sister Jackie Davis, Brother Robert Davis, and Grandmother Anne E. (Betty) Kelley in addition to many members of his family and friends. John's first love was for his dogs, he is now with his friends Daisy and Buster, and missed deeply by his friends Bud and Max.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to the ASPCA and to Gentiva Hospice. John wanted to express his sincere gratitude to the many friends and people who stood by his side and walked with him through this long journey. He loved you all beyond measure.
