John Edward Cound, 57, of Olathe, Kansas, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at his residence.
John was born November 30, 1956, in Stanton, Virginia, the son of William Thomas and Elizabeth Twitchell Cound. He was a graduate of Kansas University and received his Masters of English from Vermont's Middlebury College Breadleaf School of English. He was a teacher for over 25 years in both Theatre Arts and English.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy, of Gastonia, North Carolina, and her husband, Wayne Sigmon. He is also survived by his nephew, Scott Sigmon, and his neice, Erin Sigmon Henderson and her husband Derick and great neice Eliana Leigh Henderson, all of Gastonia. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, his four cousins and their children and a host of teachers, students and friends in Kansas. He is preceded in death by his father, William T. Cound, in 1997 and by his mother, Elizabeth T. Cound in 2010.
John was his sister's first and constant friend through their years as "army brats". He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was a special brother, teacher and friend.
