Joe Don was born June 26, 1943 in Topeka, KS living in Johnson County, KS most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a police officer for Prairie Village, KS police department for 15 years. He was a truck driver for many years. He retired November 1, 2006 from Westlake Hardware.
He was preceded in death by his father; Melvin Chance in 1988.
He is survived by his mother; Josephine Chance, sons; Kelly & wife Lisa Chance, Shawn & wife Shauna Chance, daughters; Kim & husband Brian Hull, and Wendie Bennett, brother; James Chance, and wife-best friend; Yvonne Hopkins, 10 grandchildren.
