Joan E. Hotchkiss, 74, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Sunday, July 9, 2023. She was born on October 31, 1948 in Compton, California to James and Helen (Siddall) Crockett.
Joan grew up in Compton, CA where she attended and graduated from Dominguez Valley High School. She followed her parents to Kansas City when her father was transferred. Joan worked in the hospitality and marketing fields before her interests turned to accounting and consulting. She met Bob when they were both working at Sprint Communications. Joan's interests included reading, hospitality, and just being with other people.
Joan is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Hotchkiss, Jr.; children, Thomas Forbes, Robert Hotchkiss III, and David Hotchkiss; siblings, Olive "Jonna" Sabroff, Leona Hiley, and Helen Crockett; her grandchildren, Benjamin Hotchkiss and Heidi Hotchkiss; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sonja Harrelson, and her granddaughter, Avery Hotchkiss.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions in Joan's memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
