Joan S. Cone

November 30, 1936 — October 15, 2016

After living a life filled with love, family and adventure, Joanie passed away October 15, 2016, at her home in Olathe, Kan.

Joanie was born November 30, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo. and graduated from Northeast High School in 1954. In 1955 she married her best friend and love of her life, Edwin Cone. Together they raised their four children in Kansas City before moving to Olathe, Kan. and wintering in Fort Myers, Florida.

Joanie loved to travel and spend time outdoors. She could often be found working in her many flower beds and spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier. To relax she would curl up with a good mystery and a glass of red wine.

Joanie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ed, and their four children: Christal, Christopher, Daniel and David Cone. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Britni Jarvis, Justine Young, Jessica, Jacob, Jacqueline and Samuel Cone. And four great-grandchildren: Ella, Mia, Olivia Jarvis and Emma Young.

A celebration of Joanie's life will be held Thursday, October 20, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, at Shadow Glen Clubhouse, 26000 Shadow Glen St, Olathe, KS 66061.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org/donate.
