Joan G. Cantrell, 79, of Leawood, KS passed Thurs. Aug. 10, 2017.
Joan was born Oct. 3, 1937 in Rockwall County, TX to Oland (Sugar) and Runelle Shaw. She grew up in Royce City, Texas and graduated as valedictorian of Royce City High School class of 1954 before moving to Rockwall, Texas where she married Levi Cantrell on February 6, 1956. They moved to Kansas City Kansas in 1957 where they raised their family until Levi's retirement in 1995. Their next adventure saw them in an RV traveling the United States for a few years before settling in Alamo, Texas until Levi's death in 1999. She then moved back to Royce City, Texas for several years and to Overland Park, Kansas in 2009.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen in 1961, her father in 1988, her husband in 1999, her sister Sandra in 2014 and her mother in 2015.
She is survived by her children; Candy Rudolph (James) of Riley, KS, Kyle Cantrell (Melanie) of Olathe, KS and Tobin Cantrell (Marti) of Pittsboro, IN. Grandchildren; Laura Reece (Steven), Joshua Parker (Jenny), Kyler Cantrell and Conner Cantrell. Great Grandchildren, Piper, Naomi, and Gunner.
She is also survived by her brothers Jerry Shaw of Rockwall, TX and Ronald Shaw (Barbara) of Arlington, TX.
