Ann Good, age 92, of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. Born on August 8, 1932, in Randall, Kansas, Ann carried the spirit of her prairie roots throughout her life. Although she lived in various places, including Kansas, Wisconsin, and Texas, her heart always lingered in Desdemona, the town where she spent her formative years. The dry heat of Texas held a special place in her heart, and it remained her happy place, where she cherished the simple things: warm days, beautiful paintings, a game of cards, or a good book.
Ann was a woman of quiet strength and artistic spirit. Her lifelong passion for oil painting reflected her deep connection to nature, with her canvases capturing the serene beauty of the Kansas landscapes she loved. Trees and clouds were her muses, and her many paintings were filled with the beauty she saw in the natural world.
Beyond her art, Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the outdoors. Camping, horseback riding, campfires, exploring caves, admiring rocks, and especially sitting on the porch during a rainstorm were among her favorite pastimes. She was an avid reader, always eager to delve into a good book, and enjoyed the magic of cinema. Throughout her life, she cultivated many good friendships, finding joy in coffee and heartfelt chats. She valued the company of her friends, and her warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Ann was a bright and independent woman throughout her years.
Ann had many talents, but above all, she was a mother. She sewed countless dresses, play clothes, and kitchen curtains, and though she wasn't boastful, she was a wonderful cook. Her apple pie was legendary, and she shared her love of homemade food with her children. Family gatherings were always celebrated with bountiful tables.
Ann was a loving and devoted mother to four children: Becky Tipton (Steve), Cathy Thompson, Kris Chaffee (Kurt), and Lee Johnson (Jennifer). She was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, a caring great-grandmother to ten, and recently, a great-great-grandmother to one. Miles, Elie, and Little Abe, the most recent additions, brought her immense joy and were a special gift in her later years. Ann remarried, opening her heart to an extended family, embracing Wes Good, Jeanne Hanson (Peter), and Frank Good (Kay) as her own, as well as their 7 children and 13 great-grandchildren along with respective families. Family gatherings were always filled with boisterous laughter, abundant food, and joyous celebrations, especially during the holidays. She will be missed by everyone whose life in which she played a part.
Ann is preceded in death by her first husband Donald L Johnson, as well as her second husband Garold G Good.
