Jewel Luther

Jewel (Rutherford) Luther went to be with her Jesus May 18, 2013. She was born to Walter and Emma Rutherford in Terrell, Texas on March 24, 1929.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Carl and Ferry. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth and wife Edaleen, Tom and wife Cherry, and a daughter, Madeline and husband John; her grandchildren Michelle, Tammy, Kristy, Kelly, Matthew and Mandy; great grandchildren Tyler, Andy, Christopher, Kayla, Brianna and Brooke; great great grandchildren Braylen and Brooklyn; brothers Jim and wife Sue, Don and wife Elaine, Bobby and wife Shirley, Joe and wife Tommie, and Paul.
Jewel lived in Olathe for forty four years. One of her favorite areas of ministry was being a greeter at College Church. She was a lifelong member of The Church of the Nazarene.
Jewel worked many jobs throughout her life. She was an office clerk for Farmer's Union Coop, she was a cook for the Olathe School District, and an assembly line worker at Hisonic until her retirement.
Those of us who shared her life will miss her greatly.
