Jess Howard, Jr., 79, Olathe, KS, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center. The family suggests contributions to Parkinson's Foundation and/or The American Heart Assc.
Jess was born August 17, 1931 in Warsaw, Missouri living in Olathe the past 55 years. He married Betty McDaniel in 1950 and they celebrated their 60 in 2010. He was a member of Abdallah Shriners, Lawrence Shrine Club, Spring Hill Masonic Lodge, Ocheltree Baptist Church, and was founding member of the Youth Rodeo Association. He was an Olathe Police Officer 13 years, Stickelber & Sons Bakery and Machinery, and self employed with Howard HVAC until his retirement. He was a school bus driver for Laidlaw after his retirement.
Preceded in death by his parents; Jess & Alice Howard, two brothers; Fred and Bob, sisters; Hazel Daniels and Leona Arlen, and a great grandson; Braden.
Jess is survived by his wife Betty, daughter; Pam (Homer) Owens, sons; Larry (Jane) Howard and Mike (Samantha) Howard, brothers; Donald, Lee and Francis Howard, sisters; Beulah Mae Letts and Lola Mae Harvey, grandchildren; Jim Bailey, Amy (Jerry) Hunsaker, Brad (Amy) Howard, and Brent Howard, step grandchildren; Taylor Labra and Cassidy Labra, Matt Owens, Jeff Owens, Hollie Plowman, Bob Hilt, Rena Picou and Trey Owens, great-grandchildren; Trey Hunsaker and Alexis Howard, 14 step great-grandchildren.
