Jeffrey K. Rauenzahn, Jr., 47, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was born on November 21, 1974 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Jeffrey and Shirli (Sedgebeer) Rauenzahn.
Jeff moved to the Kansas City area when he was two years old. He went to Olathe South High School and earned a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Kansas. Soon after graduating, he began working in the homebuilding industry and in 2008 started his own company, Ridge Craft Custom Homes. Over the years he has built many homes in the KC metro area and as far away as Oklahoma. Jeff was loved and admired by many friends, homeowners and subcontractors. He worked hard to please and to help everyone he knew, in any way he could.
Jeff was an avid Chiefs and KU Basketball fan. He was overjoyed to celebrate a Chiefs SuperBowl win in 2020 and Jayhawk National Championships in 2008 and again this past Spring. He loved nothing more than sharing in those experiences with his two beloved sons. Jeff was a devoted husband and father, always striving to create a strong foundation for his home and family.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Carrie Rauenzahn; two sons, Jackson and Colin; mother, Shirli Goppert; father, Jeffrey Rauenzahn, Sr. and step-mother Kris Rauenzahn; mother-in-law Lori Thompson and father-in-law Vernon Thompson; two sisters, Kimberly Smith of Drexel, MO, and Stephanie (Kyle) Blanz of Bonner Springs, KS, as well as 6 nieces and nephews.
