JEAN DELORES WARREN
Age 89, passed away July 15, 2007 in Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Requiem Eucharist, Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Cathedral, 701 SW 8the Avenue, Topeka, KS . Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in memory of Jean to the P.E.O. Programs for Continuing Education, in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062.
Jean was born August 5, 1917 in Topeka, KS, to Charles R. and Geneva Wilkerson. She graduated from Topeka High School, and married James P. Warren on September 28, 1940. Jean worked for both Southwestern Bell and the Sante Fe Railroad, and eventually enjoyed a career as a stationery buyer for Hall's Department Store, Kansas City, MO. Upon their return to Topeka, she worked part-time for the Linen Tree.
Jean and her husband, James, were long-time members of St. David's, and Jean was active within the Altar Guild. She was also a member of both Eastern Star and PEO Chapter DV. After her retirement, she enjoyed golfing and traveling, but above all spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James P. Warren, her sons James B. "Brad" Warren of Oklahoma City, OK, and Barry E. and Susan Warren of Lake Quivira, KS, her granddaughter, Lyndsay Farnsworth-Dick and her husband Aaron Dick of Shawnee, KS. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clara May MacArthur of Oklahoma City, OK.
