Janice Marion Lundberg, 86, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, with her son, Tim
Lundberg, and daughter, Cheryl Carlin, by her side. She was born on August 14, 1935 to Ira and
Iva Nixon in Medicine Lodge, KS. Janice was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and
received her nursing degree from Johnson County Community College. She worked at St. Luke's
Hospital and the ICU at Shawnee Mission Medical Center (now Advent Hospital). After Janice's
retirement from nursing, she was the primary caregiver for her husband of 41 years, John
R. Lundberg who predeceased her in November, 1999. Janice was a member of Village
Presbyterian Church where she had been an active member of the choir. She is survived by her
brother, Dennis Nixon (Diane) and niece, Renee Hillix (Scott). Janice is survived by her daughter,
Cheryl Carlin (Robert Ricklefs), her son, Tim Lundberg (Denise) and her son, John I.
Lundberg and former daughter-in-law, Teresa Reichert Vernon. She was
predeceased by her parents and daughter-in-law, Alicia Lundberg. She is also survived by her
grandchildren: Jason (Abby) and Tony (Mariesha) Carlin, Steven Lundberg and Emily,
Lauren and Carter Lundberg. Janice is survived by her five great-grandchildren: Leslie, Leah,
Levi and Leighton Carlin and Kali Carlin. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 7, at
11:00 am at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. A reception will follow the
Funeral and will be held at the church. Thank you to Janice's care providers at The Atriums the
past few years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, the
Alzheimer's Association or Village Presbyterian Church.
