Janet Louise (Gormley) Rauch

December 6, 1930 — August 21, 2023

Janet Louise (Gormley) Rauch, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023.

Janet was born on December 6, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, an only child of James and Treasa (Hans) Gormley.
At graduation from Arsenal Technical High School, she was awarded a scholarship and attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, majoring in Business Administration. While there, she met and married Clifford (Cliff) Warren Rauch in 1950. He was the center and love of her life and in 2016 they celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Janet is survived by four children: Deborah Sue Clever of St. Johns, FL, Rebecca Louise Rauch of Bountiful, UT, Julie Ann Dierickx of Lane, KS, and Carl Warren Rauch of Bountiful, UT. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jennifer Tupper, Robert Clever, Emma Jones, Elsie Kriedler, William Rauch, Lillian Scott, Madeline Rauch and Conrad Rauch, eleven great-grandchildren; Kiya, Brandon, Ayden, and Tanner Tupper, Kadence and Jackson Clever, Novella and James Jones, Lane and Kent Scott, Gray Kreidler and one great-great grandson, Alexander Tupper complete the list. She is also survived by a nephew Jeff, Rauch and a niece, Jill Helmkamp, both in Maine.

Janet was active in her children's lives in California, where they lived for 45 years, serving as Brownie Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, and participating in Vacation Bible School, PTA and in her church serving as President of Women's Missionary Society for many years. She was also active in the Orange County Children's Hospital Guild. After the children were mostly grown, she then started her own business, "My Favorite Things", and managed it for 19 years before retiring. Janet then worked for her husband, Cliff, in his company for another ten years.

After they both retired, they moved to Olathe, Kansas to enjoy grandchildren and time with family. Janet and Cliff moved to Tallgrass Creek Independent Living Retirement Community in early 2012 where they both joined in the many activities offered there. Janet had many close friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was active at Tallgrass Creek and served on several committees while living there. She always had a ready smile, a kind word, willingness to help others, and a positive outlook on life, which will be greatly missed by her family and in the halls of Tallgrass Creek.

At the family's request, please no flowers or gifts.
