JAMES F. SIGLER
Age 77, passed away July 14, 2008 at home in Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Olathe, or The AAmerican Cancer Society.
Jim was born on June 21, 1931 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to William and Rosella Sigler. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for four years, then returned to begin his 35 year career as an Air Traffic controller with the FAA. Upon his retirement, he traveled extensively with his wife, JoAnne, visiting all 50 states. In his leisure, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He was also a WWII buff, and was proud to have his family with him as they attended the WWII D-Day Celebration last year in Normandy, France. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Olathe, serving in many capacities as both an Elder and the church "Handy-man".
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather ("Grandpa Jim"), and more than anything loved to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, JoAnne, his children, Chris and wife Shagane of Shawnee, Jeff and wife Susan of Lawrence, James and wife Lori of Overland Park, and Jerry and wife Ruth of Olathe, KS, grandchildren Melissa, Andrew, Monica, Abbey, Michael, Katie and Olivia, his sisters Ellen Ross and Thelma Haynes, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben and William Sigler.
