James "Mike" Maples, 59 of Olathe, KS passed away Wednesday December 16, 2009 at home. Funeral Services will be 6PM Friday December 18 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City, TX at a later date. Friends may call from 4-6:00 PM Friday at the Church. Mike was born January 16, 1950 in Commerce, TX to Joseph and Melba Maples. He graduated from Commerce High School before going on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from the East Texas State University. He worked for 41 years in the telecommunications industry and was employed with Century Link at the time of his death. He was member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and an avid supporter of Gideon's International.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Kim Maples of the home. One daughter Elizabeth Maples-Chaosan of Olathe, KS. One grandson Elias Chaosan. One sister Suzanne Dougherty of Sulphur Springs, Tx. One brother Richard Maples of Mansfield, TX. And many nieces and nephews.
