James "Jim" Neal Simpson Jr., 86, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born on February 11, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina to James and Dorothy (Steinmeyer) Simpson.
Jim relocated to Kansas City, Missouri with his family when he was still in grade school. He was drafted by the United States Army on January 3, 1958 and was Honorably Discharged on December 31, 1963. Jim met his wife, Marge, in Kansas City, Missouri and they were married November 26, 1960. They were married at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury, Nebraska by Pastor Robert Jones. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Missouri and started their family. During Jim's life he worked for the KCMO Fire Department, General Motors Assembly Plant, was an owner/operator over the road truck driver, owner of a construction business and at the end of his career life he was a night manager at Price Chopper. A couple of his favorites were Bud Light and Chiefs Football.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie "Marge" Zweifel-Simpson; sons, Rick and wife Vicki Simpson and Darrin and wife Joan Simpson; six grandchildren, Rickey and wife Amiee, Kelsey and husband Ricky, Ericka, Greg and wife Lori, Ashley, and Madisen; five great-grandchildren, Case, Clayte, Riggs, Noah, and Hanna.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Simpson, brother Robert, sisters Doris and Barbara.
A private service will be held in Nebraska.
