James Earl Frizell, 50, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away on June 7, 2021, at his home. James worked as a Quality Inspector for Honeywell, a job that suited his meticulous attention to detail well.
He was born on September 4, 1970, to Michael and Norma (Kovach) Frizell in New Brunswick, NJ. When the family moved to Cherryvale, Kansas in 1977, he adjusted well to life in a rural community where hunting and fishing are part of daily life.
On April 10, 2019, he married Joua Heu (Thao) in a private service witnessed by his mother and older brother, Michael. James and Joua just recently moved to Spring Hill, Kansas, and were preparing to spend their lives together.
James is survived by his loving wife, Joua, his mother Norma Frizell, his son Connor Frizell, stepdaughter Serenity Heu, stepson Chance Heu, and his brothers Michael Lewis Frizell II and David Frizell.
We would be remiss if we didn't mention Maya, his pitbull, too. She misses him, as do we all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lewis Frizell.
At an early age, he demonstrated an affinity for working with his hands. In his teens, he was drawn to art, creating intricate portraits and fun caricatures. After graduating with his associate's degree in art, he sought out detailed, intricate work.
Those who knew James know that he would've hated being the center of attention today, though his affable charm, good looks, and easygoing manner drew people to him anyway.
He was a protector, fiercely loyal to his family, and preferred to keep his friendship circles small. James was the kind of man other men enjoyed hanging out with because when he spoke, his sharp wit and humor came at unexpected times, often with hilarious results. James preferred the company of the women in his life, especially his wife. She was his center, grounding him in ways that showed him he could achieve anything he set his mind to.
He was also the type of man you could sit with quietly and know he understood you and that silence was okay.
He remains forever in our hearts because we know he watches over us. Godspeed, James. We love you.
