Jake A. Beadle

December 11, 1923 — March 7, 2014

Jake Allen Beadle, of Olathe, entered heaven's gate on March 7, 2014. Jake was born December 11, 1923, the son of William and Lida (Kidd) Beadle. There will be a visitation Monday, March 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary of College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 East Sheridan, Olathe, KS. The funeral will be held at the same location on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to two of Jake's favorite charities: The Beadle Program (for single mothers getting back on their feet), at PO Box 4407, Olathe, KS 66063, or Kansas City Rescue Mission, 1520 Cherry Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings, Charles, Amanda, Frank, Clara May, and Ed. Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Clara; his three children, Jake (and wife Pat) , Jim, and Cherry (Beadle) Luther (and husband Tom). His grandchildren, Mark Beadle (and wife Angie), Eric Beadle (and wife Brandy), Jayma Beadle, Junelle (Beadle) Woolery(and husband Ben), and Kristy Luther. He was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Michael Beadle, Jordan Beadle, and Cortney (Beadle) Schimke (and husband Greg), Triston Beadle, Britt Beadle, and Brooke Luther.

Jake was a purple heart recipient from World War II. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene the last fifty-five years of his life. After retirement, Jake was able to do even more volunteer work for his church, family and friends. He lived to serve others in any way possible.

Jake was a faithful husband, loving father, doting grandfather, great grandfather and a loyal friend. He never met a stranger. He never knew anyone he didn't like. He was a living, breathing epistle of Christ. Jake has left a huge hole in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved him. Heaven is rejoicing though, another of God's good and faithful servants has come home.
