Jacqueline L. Ritter was born Nov. 9, 1932 on the night that Roosevelt was elected to his first term. She always joked that this lead to her life-long interest in politics. She died peacefully on Sept. 8, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long spell of old age including Parkinson's Disease.
During her career as a clinical psychologist, she was senior staff psychologist at what is now Rediscover Mental Health Center from 1975 until 1981 when she took the same position at Swope Parkway Mental Health Center. She entered private practice in 1983 and retired in 1995 when she moved to Lees Summit, Mo. She loved her patients, puzzles, traveling, mystery novels, volunteering, science, metaphysics, gardening, dancing and, most of all, her family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son John; granddaughter Felicia Ritter; and brother Jerry Beliveau. She is survived by her daughters Susan Michelle McBurney and Leigh Ellen Green; six grandchildren: Brigand Green, Rob McBurney, Kate McBurney, Shelby Ritter, Joe Ritter and Dan Ritter. She also leaves five great-grandchildren: Robbie, Parker, Lorien, Benjamin and Kannon.
No funeral will be held at her request. Leave condolences at AraCremationKC.com.
