Jack was born September 11, 1921 in Ottawa, KS to Earl and Barbara Moody. He was involved in football and wrestling during High School and even won the Wrestling State Championship. He graduated from Wichita North High School in 1939. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a Sergeant under General Patton. He was a member of the 50th Fighter Group and was on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Jack married the love of his life, Joan Robinson, on June 12th, 1943. Together they had 2 daughters. Jack began working pedaling fish for Mid-Central at the age of 14. He held the positions of deliveryman, warehouseman, office clerk, salesman and branch manager in Wichita. He served as branch manager in Oklahoma City where he remained until becoming Vice President In Kansas City in 1974. He went on to become president of Mid- Central Fish and Frozen food (eventually Sysco Foods) in 1978. He spent a lot of his time out with his employees on the sales floor or in the warehouse. He was well liked by everyone. Most likely due to his fairness and equal treatment no matter what their position.. He remained president until he retired in 1990. Jack enjoyed traveling with his wife and their family, wood working, spending time at the lake and spent quite a few years in a bowling league. He was always there when you needed him, whether it be cheering on his grandkids and great grandkids in a sports game or coming over to kill a "scary" bug. He always put his family first, made friends with everyone he met and was rarely seen without a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was an incredible husband, father and papaw who led by example with his ambitious and humble ways.
After 70 years of marriage he was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2013.
Jack is survived by his two daughters Kelsey Kessler and Kimberly Sanders (Paul), grandchildren Shiloh Little ( Matt) and Shannon Baker(Justin), Great Grandchildren Hunter Kessler, Brody Baker, Kylan Baker, Jace Little, Arabella Baker and Lucy Little.
