Jack Edward Hinkle, 72, died peacefully in his home in Wellsville, Kansas with his family by his side following a battle with lung cancer, on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
Jack was born December 30, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri to Ralph and Eunice Hinkle. He graduated from Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1957.
He met the love of his life and married Judith (Beaver) Hinkle on September 19, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jack was a devoted loving husband to Judith (Judy) for over 53 years and they had two children in which he dearly loved.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Ralph R. Hinkle born in Morrisville, Missouri and his mother, Eunice (Guinn) Hinkle born in Mullinville, Kansas, both residents of Kansas City, Kansas.
Jack leaves behind a legacy of hope and a love for life beginning with his wife, Judith Hinkle of Wellsville, Kansas; his son, Allen Hinkle and his wife Pamela of Gardner, Kansas; his daughter, Christine Schwab and her husband Kevin of Wellsville, Kansas; two brothers, Jim Hinkle and his wife Kathryn of Shawnee, Kansas; Richard Hinkle and his wife, Kathy of Kansas City, Kansas; his sister, Janet Spencer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, Billy Findley and his companion MaShona of Lexington, Oklahoma; Jeremiah Findley of Pollock, Louisiana; Jessica Solomon and her husband Mica of Ozark, Alabama; Bethany Lindvall and her husband Judd of Plymoth, Minnesota, Ashley Hinkle and her companion Brent of Overland Park, Kansas; Whitney Porter and her husband Todd of Overland Park, Kansas; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Michaiah, Joseph, Judah, Justus, Jaiden, Josslyn, and Braxton; three brother-in-laws, Sonny, John, and Tony; two sister-in-laws, Jane and Kathleen, many nieces and nephews and an abundant number of friends.
He was a retired foreman from Quality Plumbing with the Plumbers Local 8 of Kansas City, Missouri after 25 years.
Jack not only loved his family but because of his love and compassion for helping and serving others he was a Shriner and a Director with the Kansas Shrine Bowl, a Shriner of the Abdallah Shrine, and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 65 of Gardner, Kansas. He and his wife Judith also had a love for the rodeo, they both served at the Shrine Rodeo and the American Royal for many years.
Jack loved fishing and with a love for the outdoors and gardening he and his wife built a home in the rural area of Wellsville, Kansas where they have resided over 21 years. Jack considered their home your home and loved to fellowship with family and friends making memories to be passed on from generation to generation.
Jack recently gave his life to our Lord and Savior reassuring his loved ones that we will meet again. Though now present with the Lord, Jack's memorial will reside at the Gardner Cemetery in Gardner, Kansas.
Jack and his family want to express their love and appreciation to everyone who supported him with prayers, cards, and phone calls throughout his battle with cancer, one this for sure "He did not fight alone". Thank you.
