J. Dale Burns, 91, of Olathe, Kansas, joined our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 2:35am.
Born Jewell Dale Burns on June 16, 1928 to Herman E. and Harriett O. Burns in Pennsylvania.
Dale joined the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Panama, then taught Intelligence at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. Following his military service, Dale began a family and life-long sales career pioneering his successful company B&D Sales of Denver, Colorado doing business as Associated Sales in the Kansas City and Denver areas.
During retirement, Dale and his wife, Sally, enjoyed traveling and made friends wherever they went.
Dale was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Independence, Missouri for many years, and was currently a 17-year member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Leawood, Kansas.
Dale is preceded in death by Herman E. and Harriett I. Burns (parents), Steven Lowe (son), and Nicholas Lowe (grandson).
Dale is survived by his loving wife, "Sally" Anita J. Burns of Olathe, Kansas; children Michael (Peggy) Burns of Kansas City, Missouri, Nancy (Clifton) Baker of Pueblo, Colorado, Laura E. (William) Barth of Gresham, Oregon, Randy (Tammy) Lowe of Rockford, Illinois, Lisa Fenelon of Olathe, Kansas, and daughter-in-law Dawn Lowe of Stilwell, Kansas. He is also survived by grandchildren Adam Sloat, Chandra Stansbarger, Justin Lowe, Erin Hall, Steven Burns, Tara Lowe, Callie Moyers, Joshua Willburn, Kyle Barth, and Kevin Barth, and 10 great-grandchildren.
