Iris J. Lasché, 94, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020. She was born on October 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Eugene and Olga (Lemberg) Handrich.

Iris grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School. On June 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Harold "Harry" R. Lasché in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Harry preceded Iris in death on August 12, 2009 after 58 years of marriage.

Iris was a wife and homemaker until 1970 when she became a Sales Associate in the Stationery Department with The Jones Store Company located in Overland Park, Kansas. Iris retired in 1988 and moved with Harry from Overland Park, Kansas to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where they enjoyed golfing, playing cards and cruising Lake Balboa. Iris was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village. Iris loved to travel with her husband and they visited places such as Mexico, Panama, Israel, Germany, Norway; with two of their favorite cruises taken to Alaska and on the Rhine River in Europe. In early Spring of 2017, approximately eight years after Harry's passing, Iris relocated to Olathe, Kansas to be closer to family. She resided at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, KS.

Iris is survived by her loving family; son Gary Lasché of Plymouth, MN, son Brian Lasché (Megan) of Kansas City, MO, daughter Karen Shull (Jeff) of Gladstone, MO, daughter Jody Cross (Jim) of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren: Haley Lasché, Katey Alleman (Dean), Tyler Lasché (Nora), Andrew Lasché (Cristan), Jonathan Entgelmeier, Jason Entgelmeier (Emily); six great grandchildren: Jackson Abe, Addy Alleman, Louis Gale, Henry Lasché, Grayson Lasché, Weston Lasché. Iris also leaves behind two sisters: Marilyn Parbs (Bill) of Germantown, WI and Joanne Gitzlaff of Brookfield, WI; several nieces and nephews: Bill Parbs (Patty), Dave Parbs (Jill), John Parbs (Laura), Gail Gitzlaff-Nessle (Jeff), Dan Gitzlaff (Renee), Nancy Michael (Justin), Sue Kowalski (Buddy), Amy Lasché.

Iris is preceded in death by her husband Harold Lasché, one brother Ronald Handrich, brother-in-law Loren Gitzlaff, brother-in-law Arthur Lasché and wife Jackie, nephew Steven Parbs.

Iris will be remembered for her love of family, sweet spirit and will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her. The family would like to extend their thanks and sincere gratitude to all the staff of Olathe Health Hospice House in caring for Iris in her final days.

The family is planning a private memorial service at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, KS on Saturday, October 24, 2020. The family requests that contributions in Iris' memory be made to the Good Samaritan Society – Communities of Olathe, Alzheimer's Association or the Olathe Health Charitable Foundation – Hospice House.
