Age 88, passed away suddenly August 22, 2005. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 11:00a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd Street, Olathe, KS, where the family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Topeka, KS. Remembrances are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Greater Kansas City Affiliate, 1111Main, Kansas City, MO 64105.
She is survived by her daughter, Sara Gartner of Benton, LA, sons-in-law Phil Gartner of Benton, LA and Joe Starkey of Kansas City, MO, her sister Irma Hiett of Reedley, CA, grandchildren Scott Starkey, Joel Gartner, Jocelyn Dickson, Jill Riffer, and Jennifer Kraft, great-grandchildren Susannah, Graham, Katie, Sara, Nathaniel, Timothy, Caitlin, Caroline, and Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. McFadden in 2003, and her daughter Sonja Starkey in 2005. Arrangements, Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe Chapel, (913) 768-6777.
