Howard Lee Hunt

Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Howard Lee Hunt passed from this earth to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

Howard was born in Wichita Falls, TX on May 11, 1955 to William Leslie and Patricia Ann Hunt.

Howard spent most of his younger years in Oklahoma and after high school went to work for Mistletoe Express where he was promoted to Director of Cargo Claims and also became an auctioneer.
In 1989 he took a job with YRC (Yellow Freight) in Overland Park, KS and also worked for Special Product Company.
In 2015 Howard took a position with Community Health Systems and moved to Nolensville, TN.

Howard is survived by his best friend and wife of more than 46 years, Gail Byers Hunt, Nolensville, TN; his mother, Patricia Hunt of Mustang, OK; his "Amazing Daughter" (as she is listed in his cell phone), Lauren Euhus and husband, Brandon, Chesapeake, VA, and his 6 grand children whom he loved dearly; Trent, Kaylyn, Holly, Sydney, Wyatt and Noah; two brothers-Darryle Hunt and wife Jeanne of Amarillo, TX and Stan Hunt and wife Lisa of Brentwood, TN: several nieces and nephews and a host of treasured and valued friends

Howard was preceded in death by his father, William Leslie Hunt.

Howard loved reading about cars and working on them. He was a huge fan of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) football, the KC Chiefs and KC Royals. He enjoyed traveling with his brothers and friends to football and baseball games.

Howard was a child of God and loved the Lord and the church. He served as a Deacon at 151st Street Church of Christ in Olathe, KS for over 20 years. He was also on the board of directors for Christian Family Services of the Midwest and was the auctioneer for several of their fundraisers. At the time of his passing, he attended Concord Road Church of Christ in Brentwood, TN. He loved and cherished all of his church family.

Howard was described as a kind, gentle and devoted friend and co-worker. He was a protective, loving and caring, husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
