70, of Olathe, KS died October 13, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center from heart failure. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 6-8pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd. Olathe, KS 66062. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct 16 at 10:00 a.m. also in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO. He was born July 11, 1938 in Archie, MO to Howard C. And Alice (Crow) Davis.
Allen farmed with his family in Archie, MO, until he went to work for General Motors in 1959. He worked at the Delco and Fairfax Plants for a total of 48 years, retiring in 2007. He was a Skilled Trades Representative for UAW Local 1021.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his second wife, Hilda, brother James Davis, and a step-son, Gregory Downs.
Mr. Davis leaves two daughters; Kristal Thompson, Leawood, KS, and Barbara Hardie, Olathe, KS, four step-children; Richard Downs and Donna Hewitt, Olathe, Ks, Steven Downs, Belton, MO, and Jennifer Downs, Kansas City, MO, and many grandchildren.
