Herchel L Bates III, 72, of Olathe, Kansas died Wednesday August 28, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Kathy (Koenke) Bates of the home; his daughter, Kandice Burns and her companion Mitchell Ripper of St. Joseph, MO; his daughter, Katrina Mendoza and her husband David Mendoza of Kansas City, KS and a son, Travis Bates and his wife Sara Bates of La Cygne, KS.; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was a lifelong resident of Olathe, KS and served in the United States Navy. He was an HVAC technician for many years till his retirement from David Maxwell Heating and Cooling.
