HERBERT "HERB" E. SQUIRE
Born July 31, 1926 to Russell and Ruth Squire in Johnstown, PA, went home to be with the Lord on August 10th, 2005 surrounded by his family in Olathe, KS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, from 6:00-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, followed by a funeral service on Saturday, August 13 at 1:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Olathe, 2024 E. 151st, Olathe, KS 66062, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment, Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Remembrances are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Olathe.
Herb served our country in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, then worked as both a Personnel Director and Risk Management Director for St. Joseph's Health Care Center in Kansas City, MO.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy, his daughters Jan (John) Seested and Karen (Darrell) Knee, his brothers William (Gloria) Squire, Robert (Natalie) Squire, Jim (Sharon) Squire, his sisters Mary Ruth (Luther) Hoffman, and Joyce Rix. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Squire in 1991, and his son Ken Squire in 1999.
