Helen Louise McLane, 97, of Olathe, passed away on November 11, 2023 at Benton House of Olathe.
She was born on October 21, 1926 to William and Nellie (Garrett) Michael at Osawatomie, KS.
On June 10, 1950 she married Richard McLane, and after they pastored a series of Pilgrim Holiness churches in the midwest, they made their longtime home in Amarillo, TX.
Helen worked as a Daycare/Childcare Director for most of her career after raising her family.
She was a longtime parishioner of Valleyview and South Georgia Nazarene Churches in Amarillo and later College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, KS. She enjoyed singing church music and recounting her experiences with preschool children as a Sunday School teacher and later as a Daycare Director. Helen was known by friends for her unconventional sense of humor.
Helen is survived by her children: daughter, Kathy(Dale) Jones and son, Michael E. (Rachel) McLane, and her grandchildren: Mark(Joni) Jones, Sandra (Daran) Duffy, Stephen (Danielle) Jones, Michelle (Matthew) McLane, Aletheia McLane, Timothy (Amanda) McLane, and Benjamin (Courtney) McLane.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard McLane in 2003.
