Helen L. Knoche, 86, Stilwell, KS, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at her home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital c/o the Abdallah Shrine Temple, 5300 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66202.
Helen was born to Oscar and Mae Mallicoat July 17, 1923 in Belton, MO living in Stanley/Stilwell areas most of her life. She was a graduate of Stilwell High School. She married George L. Knoche (who preceded her in death in 2000) March 13, 1942. She retired from the Blue Valley School District in the cafeteria and retired from the Stilwell Elementary School.
She was a member of Stilwell United Methodist Church, and the Order of Eastern Star.
She also preceded in death by a brother; Clarence Mallicoat, and a grandson; John Lee Knoche.
She is survived by her (3)sons, Melvin L. (Marcia) Knoche of Bucyrus, Gary L. (Patty) Knoche of LaCygne, Donald L. (Janet) Knoche of Overland Park; Daughter, Susan L. (John) Ray of Stilwell; Sister, Dorothy (Arthur) VanDaele of Olathe; Sister, Lillian Slusher of Overland Park; Brother, Harold (Ruth) Mallicoat of Olathe; Brother, Howard (Janis) Mallicoat of Stilwell; Brother, Charles (Barbara) Mallicoat of Stilwell; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
