Helen Irene Higgins, 89, of Olathe, passed away on January 10, 2020 at Olathe Hospice House.
She was born on October 3, 1930 to Delbert and Irene (Van Vanpeyma) Overton at Kansas City, MO.
Helen worked as an office administrator for the Social Security office, until her retirement.
On Feb. 13, 1950, she married Robert "Bob" Higgins, and they made their home in Olathe, Kansas.
She was a member of Cedar Lake Community, and enjoyed socializing with her neighbors at Cedar Lake and playing chimes, current events and seeing her great grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Robin L Maggard and Doug Duncan, and grandchild Brandy Thomasson, and 3 great grandchildren Bailey, Jacob and Brooklyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Higgins, her parents, her brothers and sister.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 10:00 am at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe, Kansas, with Memorial Service to follow at 11:00am.
Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Robin Maggard, and will be distributed by the family.
